EAST RUTHERFORD — New York Giants head coach John Harbaugh isn’t buying the internet’s latest obsession. After a social media clip went viral suggesting the new Giants boss sounds exactly like former President Joe Biden, Harbaugh took to the “Pardon My Take” podcast to squash the chatter. He made it clear: the comparison stops here.
“I Might Have Had a Sore Throat”
The clip in question surfaced on X (formerly Twitter) in February, featuring a snippet of Harbaugh’s introductory press conference. Fans quickly pointed out a rasp and cadence strikingly similar to the 46th President. Harbaugh, who joined the Giants this offseason after 18 years with the Baltimore Ravens, didn’t find the humor in it.
“Ya know, I’m not happy with that at all,” Harbaugh said during his Friday appearance. “I might have had a little sore throat that day. I got a little sore throat today. I mean, Joe Biden, really? Did you guys think I sounded like Joe Biden? Was it the whole interview, or maybe one sentence that they clipped out?”
When pressed by hosts Big Cat and PFT Commenter to lean into the bit, Harbaugh shut it down. “I’m putting that in dispute right now. I’m not accepting that. I will not accept that comparison,” he added with a grimace. The coach is clearly more focused on his No. 5 overall pick in the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft than becoming a TikTok meme.
The New Era in New York
Harbaugh landed in the Big Apple after the Giants moved on from Brian Daboll mid-way through a disastrous 2025 campaign. The team finished 4-13 last year, plagued by late-game collapses and a season-ending ACL injury to star wideout Malik Nabers. Despite the noise, the foundation in East Rutherford has some high-octane potential.
Sophomore quarterback Jaxson Dart is coming off a rookie season where he threw for 2,272 yards and notched 24 total touchdowns. Dart proved he belongs in the league, even while playing behind a revolving door of an offensive line. With Nabers on track for a 2026 return, Harbaugh’s job is to turn those raw stats into wins.
“I like the way he plays. I like his talent, his skill set… but more than that, I like who he is. To me, he’s about football. This young guy loves football. He wants to talk football all the time and that’s kind of what I like doing too.”

Draft Strategy and the Road to April
The Giants hold a prime spot in late April. Holding the fifth pick gives Harbaugh and GM Joe Schoen a chance to snag a top-tier tackle or another explosive weapon for Dart. Most mock drafts have the Giants eyeing the interior offensive line or a lockdown corner to bolster Dennard Wilson’s new defense.
You can feel the shift at the facility. The Baltimore-style grit is slowly seeping into the Meadowlands. Harbaugh isn’t just changing the playbook; he’s changing the culture. Whether he sounds like a president or not, Giants fans only care if he can deliver a winning record for the first time since 2022.
