Las Vegas Raiders Hire Zach Azzanni as WR Coach in Latest Klint Kubiak Staff Shakeup

LAS VEGAS — The Las Vegas Raiders didn’t just fill a staff vacancy; they secured a strict architect for a massive offensive rebuild. On Tuesday, the silver and black officially brought on Zach Azzanni as their new wide receivers coach, pulling the 49-year-old veteran away from the Pittsburgh Steelers. Entering his 10th NFL season, Azzanni reunites with freshly minted head coach Klint Kubiak, who arrived in Vegas fresh off a Super Bowl LX victory with the Seahawks. The move signals a clear, aggressive intent: surround the incoming No. 1 overall pick with a disciplined, battle-tested offensive staff.

    Rebuilding the Desert Air Attack

Azzanni spent the 2024 and 2025 campaigns drilling the Pittsburgh Steelers’ wideouts under Mike Tomlin. Now, he heads to the desert to tackle a completely different beast. The Raiders’ current receiver room looks dangerously thin. Azzanni draws the heavy assignment of molding this unproven group into a lethal weapon for the franchise’s next quarterback. You can already feel the pressure cooker heating up inside Allegiant Stadium; expectations are sky-high, and the front office’s margin for error is exactly zero.

Kubiak and Azzanni know exactly how the other operates. The two shared a sideline in 2022 with the Denver Broncos. Kubiak ran the passing game while Azzanni commanded the receivers. That season, the Broncos navigated a rocky offensive year to rank 19th in passing yards, but Azzanni managed to squeeze elite production out of Jerry Jeudy. The young receiver paced the team with 67 catches, 972 yards, and six touchdowns.

“Zach demands absolute perfection from the snap to the whistle. We need that exact kind of fire in the receiver room if we want to build a championship culture here in Vegas. He coaches hard, and the players respect the results.”
    — Klint Kubiak, Las Vegas Raiders Head Coach

    Draft Implications / What’s Next

The Raiders control the board in the 2026 NFL Draft. Las Vegas holds the first overall pick, and all signs point directly to Indiana’s undefeated National Champion and Heisman Trophy winner Fernando Mendoza. General manager Tom Telesco is putting the final coaching pieces in place to insulate their future franchise quarterback from day one.

With Azzanni locked in, the Raiders’ brain trust is nearly complete. Defensive coordinator Rob Leonard returns to anchor the defense. Andrew Janocko officially takes over as offensive coordinator, following Kubiak from their successful stints together in New Orleans and Seattle. Joe DeCamillis steps up to coordinate special teams. The harsh desert winter outside the facility contrasts sharply with the friction building inside the film rooms. Las Vegas is officially on the clock.
