SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Eleven years after Malcolm Butler’s goal-line interception ripped a dynasty out of Seattle’s hands, the Seahawks finally get their shot at redemption. Super Bowl 60 (LX) kicks off tonight at Levi’s Stadium, pitting a resurgent Seattle squad led by the unlikeliest of heroes, Sam Darnold, against a New England Patriots team that has engineered one of the most stunning turnarounds in NFL history.

Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. ET on NBC. The stakes couldn’t be higher: Seattle chases the ghost of Super Bowl 49, while New England looks to cap a miracle season behind second-year sensation Drake Maye.

    The Odds & The Money

Vegas likes the redemption arc. The Seahawks are 4.5-point favorites at DraftKings, with the Over/Under set at a tight 45.5 points. It makes sense on paper; Seattle (16-3) boasts the league’s top-ranked scoring defense. But the Patriots (17-3) aren’t far behind, fielding the No. 4 unit and suffocating playoff opponents to the tune of just 8.6 points per game.

The SportsLine Model is split. It sees a coin-flip on the spread (50% cover rate for each side) but flags the Under (45.5) as the sharp play, hitting in nearly 60% of simulations. If you’re hunting value, the model points to the Patriots’ moneyline (+195) as the smart upset pick.

Quarterback Clash: The Prodigy vs. The Journeyman

This matchup screams contrast. On one sideline, you have Drake Maye. The Patriots’ young gunslinger isn’t just a “game manager”—he’s an MVP finalist in only his second season. After a brutal four-win campaign last year, Maye has elevated the entire franchise, playing with a poise that belies his age.

On the other sideline stands Sam Darnold. Written off as a draft bust years ago, Darnold has clawed his way back from the NFL wilderness. He didn’t just keep the seat warm in Seattle; he torched the NFC. His performance in the NFC title game—rallying the offense to drop the Rams—proved he can handle the bright lights. Now, he’s 60 minutes away from completing the ultimate comeback story.

“We know what happened eleven years ago. You see the clips every Super Bowl week. But this isn’t about the past anymore. It’s about finishing the fight we started in September. We aren’t leaving the one-yard line without the trophy this time.” — Mike Macdonald, Seahawks Head Coach

    Defensive Warfare

Don’t let the quarterback narratives fool you—this game will be won in the trenches. Seattle’s defense strangled San Francisco in the Divisional Round, allowing a meager six points. They play fast, physical, and mean.

New England counters with a unit that has arguably played better football over the last month than anyone. In three playoff wins over Los Angeles, Houston, and Denver, they allowed a combined 26 points. If Maye makes a mistake, his defense is more than capable of bailing him out.

    Prediction: The Upset

Seattle has the firepower with Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Kenneth Walker III, but New England has the momentum. The Patriots’ defense is playing at a historic level, and in a game with a low total (45.5), every possession counts. Expect a grinder.

The Pick: The model leans Under, but we like the upset. Maye finds Hunter Henry for a late score, and the defense holds firm.

Score Prediction: Patriots 20, Seahawks 17.
