Cowboys TE Jake Ferguson Called Up to 2026 Pro Bowl Games

FRISCO, Texas — The Dallas Cowboys are sending a sixth star to the Pro Bowl Games. Tight end Jake Ferguson has been officially added to the NFC roster, replacing San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle, who is sidelined with an injury following the Niners’ playoff run. The announcement marks Ferguson’s second consecutive Pro Bowl selection, solidifying his status as one of the league’s premier safety valves.

Ferguson’s selection comes on the heels of a career-defining 2025 season. The fourth-year tight end became a focal point in Dallas’s high-octane offense, recording a career-high 82 receptions and 8 touchdowns. While his yardage dipped slightly to 600 yards compared to his breakout 2023 campaign, his reliability in the red zone proved critical.

He joins an elite group of Cowboys tight ends with multiple Pro Bowl nods, a list that includes franchise legends Jason Witten, Jay Novacek, and Billy Joe DuPree. Ferguson’s ability to find soft spots in zone coverage complemented the explosive playmaking of teammates George Pickens and CeeDee Lamb, giving quarterback Dak Prescott a reliable check-down option all season.

Ferguson isn’t flying solo. He joins a robust contingent of Cowboys representing the Star in Orlando. The roster reflects the massive offseason shifts that defined the 2025 Cowboys:

    • Dak Prescott (QB) – 4th Selection
    • George Pickens (WR) – 1st Selection (Acquired from Steelers)
    • Quinnen Williams (DT) – (Acquired from Jets)
    • Tyler Smith (LG) – 3rd Consecutive Selection
    • Brandon Aubrey (K) – The automatic leg returns

“You never want to see a guy like George [Kittle] go down, he’s a legend in this league. But getting this call? It means the work is being seen. I just try to be the guy Dak trusts on 3rd and 6. To be mentioned with Witten and Novacek… that’s the standard we chase here.” — Jake Ferguson, Cowboys Tight End

This selection validates the front office’s decision to lock Ferguson down with that massive four-year, $52 million extension prior to the season. With the salary cap set to rise, having a Pro Bowl-caliber tight end under contract through 2029 gives Dallas offensive stability.

However, the roster reshuffle looms. With defensive stars like Micah Parsons now wearing Green Bay colors and DeMarcus Lawrence in Seattle (both also Pro Bowlers this year), Ferguson’s emergence as a core leader is vital. The Cowboys are transitioning, but the offensive core remains lethal.
