Sack That Buried San Francisco – Leonard Williams

SEATTLE — Hope is a dangerous thing. For a brief moment in the third quarter, the 49ers thought they had it. Down 24-6, they were driving. They had crossed midfield. It was 4th & 2. A conversion here, a touchdown there, and suddenly it’s a game.

    Then Leonard Williams happened.

He didn’t just stop the play; he destroyed it. Williams blew through the line and swallowed Brock Purdy for a humiliating 14-yard loss. The stadium shook. The 49ers’ sideline went silent. That wasn’t just a sack—it was an eviction notice.

Seattle’s defense, self-nicknamed “The Dark Side,” played like they were possessed. They didn’t give San Francisco an inch. They held the high-powered 49ers offense to zero touchdowns and forced three turnovers.

Purdy looked lost. Without Christian McCaffrey (who battled a stinger) and George Kittle, the 49ers were a shell of themselves. But give credit where it’s due: Mike Macdonald’s defense smelled blood. They treated every snap like a street fight, and the 4th down sack was the knockout punch.

“We smelled blood… (Shaheed) starting the game off like that set the tone.” — Leonard Williams, Seahawks DL

The “Zombie Niners” are finally dead. This loss isn’t just a playoff exit; it’s an identity crisis. Injuries or not, getting blown out 41-6 by a division rival is unacceptable. Seattle has officially taken the crown. They are younger, faster, and hungrier. The 49ers are going home to watch the NFC Championship from the couch, wondering where it all went wrong.
