Fly Eagles Fly: Birds Clinch Historic NFC East Title, Set Sights on Playoff Run

Philadelphia, Jan. 3: History has finally repeated itself in the NFC East, and it’s wearing Kelly Green.

For the first time since 2004, the NFC East has a repeat champion. Despite a rollercoaster regular season that saw the Philadelphia Eagles stumble against division rivals like the New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys, the Birds have locked up the division title and punched their ticket to the 2025 NFL Playoffs.

While the road wasn’t always smooth—marked by a mid-season inconsistency that frustrated the Philly faithful—the Eagles remain one of the league’s most dangerous rosters. When the playoffs kick off on Jan. 10, the path to the Super Bowl will once again run through a raucous Lincoln Financial Field.

    A Dangerous contender

Critics will point to the Week 6 blowout loss to the Giants or the narrow defeat in Dallas as signs of vulnerability. But playoff football is about peaking at the right time, and Philadelphia boasts a ceiling few teams can match.

The offense is anchored by two of the NFL’s premier playmakers. Quarterback Jalen Hurts continues to be a dual-threat nightmare for defensive coordinators, while Saquon Barkley has been the engine of the ground game, proving why he is considered one of the best offseason acquisitions in franchise history. If head coach Nick Sirianni can synchronize these pieces, Philadelphia isn’t just a participant; they are a legitimate threat to hoist the Lombardi Trophy.

There is no home-field advantage quite like playoff football in South Philly. With the NFC East crown secured, the Eagles are guaranteed to host at least one postseason matchup.

Tickets are already moving fast on the secondary market. According to StubHub, prices for the Wild Card round are starting around $230, with Divisional Round seats jumping to $630. For the optimistic fan looking ahead to the NFC Championship, entry starts at $870.

    2025 NFL Playoff Schedule

The road to the Super Bowl begins next weekend. While the Eagles’ specific opponent and kickoff time will be finalized after Week 18 concludes this Sunday, the league framework is set:

    • Wild Card Round: Jan. 10–12

    • Divisional Round: Jan. 17–18

    • Conference Championships: Jan. 25

    • Super Bowl LX: Feb. 8

Despite an inconsistent regular season, the Eagles have made history as repeat NFC East champions and remain a top Super Bowl contender entering the playoffs.
