FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — Drake Maye is turning the sting of a Super Bowl loss into a win for the community. The New England Patriots quarterback and his wife, Ann Michael, officially launched the MayeDay Family Foundation this week, shifting his focus from the gridiron to local philanthropy following a breakout 2025 season. Just weeks after a 29-13 loss to the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl 60, Maye is already cementing his legacy as the face of the franchise off the field.

Softball and Service: The MayeDay Mission

The 23-year-old signal-caller isn’t wasting any time in the offseason. After finishing as the NFL MVP runner-up with 4,394 passing yards and 31 touchdowns, Maye is now prioritizing families in need across New England and his home state of North Carolina. The foundation’s first major move is a three-year commitment to Boston Children’s Hospital, specifically funding a Child Life Therapist for the oncology floor.

The charity’s public debut will happen on the diamond rather than the turf. On May 31, Polar Park in Worcester will host the inaugural “Celebrity Softball Classic.” The event promises a home run derby, a full fireworks display, and a roster packed with Patriots teammates. Fans can grab tickets starting as low as $15 when they go on sale this Tuesday. It is a sharp pivot for a player who spent the winter dodging pass rushers, but Maye seems just as comfortable leading a foundation as he is a two-minute drill.

“It’s important for us to provide help for kids and families in need and we are looking forward to partnering with great organizations in New England and back home in North Carolina.”— Drake Maye, New England Patriots Quarterback

Looking Toward the 2026-27 Campaign

The “First Lady of New England,” Ann Michael Maye, is taking an active role in the foundation’s operations. The couple, who married in June 2025, have quickly become fixtures in the local scene. While Maye’s recent playoff performance had its rough patches—including a difficult afternoon against Seattle’s secondary—his trajectory remains sky-high.

The Patriots are hungry for their seventh Lombardi Trophy, and the 2026 season will place immense weight on Maye’s shoulders. By establishing deep roots in the community now, he is following the blueprint of the greats who came before him in Foxborough. Expect the softball game at Polar Park to be a high-energy reunion for a roster that came just one game short of a title. This offseason isn’t about resting; it’s about building something that lasts longer than a four-quarter game.
