Titans Lock in Calvin Ridley: Veteran WR Restructures $92M Deal to Stay in Nashville

NASHVILLE, TN — The Tennessee Titans are betting on a major comeback. Wide receiver Calvin Ridley and the Titans front office agreed to a restructured contract on March 14, 2026, ensuring the veteran stays in Nashville for the upcoming season. The move, first reported by NFL Network, comes just in time to beat a $2 million roster bonus that was due Saturday afternoon.

Titans Sidestep Cap Crunch to Keep Ridley

Ridley signed a massive four-year, $92 million contract back in 2024, but his future in Tennessee looked shaky after a grueling 2025. A fractured fibula in November ended his season after just seven games, leaving him with a stat line of 17 catches for 303 yards and zero touchdowns. Before the restructure, Ridley carried a daunting $26.5 million salary cap hit for 2026. While releasing him would have saved the team $12 million, General Manager Mike Borgonzi opted for continuity over a total reset.

The 31-year-old receiver proved his worth during his 2024 debut in Nashville, racking up 1,017 yards and 64 receptions. He is one of only seven players in franchise history to cross the 1,000-yard mark in a single season. The Titans clearly believe that under new Offensive Coordinator Brian Daboll—who coached Ridley during their championship run at Alabama—the veteran can still torch secondaries. The offense now features a revamped room with Ridley paired alongside free-agent prize Wan’Dale Robinson and rising sophomores Chimere Dike and Elic Ayomanor.

“I have unfinished business in this city. Last year was a freak accident, but my rehab is ahead of schedule. I want to be the guy Cam Ward counts on when the game is on the line.”
    — Calvin Ridley, Tennessee Titans Wide Receiver

What This Means for the 2026 Season

This move signals that the Titans are in “win-now” mode around second-year quarterback Cam Ward. By shifting Ridley’s salary into a signing bonus and likely adding void years, Tennessee gains the flexibility to pursue more defensive help. The pressure is now squarely on Ridley to prove he hasn’t lost his elite burst after the leg injury. If he returns to his 2024 form, the duo of Ridley and Robinson could be the most dangerous receiving tandem in the AFC South. If the drops that plagued his early 2025 season return, however, this restructure might just delay an inevitable transition.
